The NBA Miami Heat pro basketball team is the pride and joy of southern Florida. Since they formed as an expansion team in 1988, they have won 3 championships, including two unstoppable seasons in 2012 and 2013. A lot of that is due to basketball superstars LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade.
The Miami Heat home turf is American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami on Biscayne Bay. If you have tickets to a Heat game, you are in for quite a spectacle. Like most pro ball games, the competition is only part of the show. The Miami Metrorail takes you right to the Arena. Since parking can be expensive and traffic brutal, take public transportation if you can.
Miami Heat vs. L.A. Lakers
Who doesn't like a little coast-to-coast rivalry? The Miami Heat won against the L.A. Lakers twice so far in 2013. Last season, the Heat put the beat down on the Lakers on their home turf no less. They won 99 to 90 in January-and it was pretty sweet. In February, they did it again, with LeBron James scoring 32 points. In fact, he broke the team record previously shared with Dwayne Wade, scoring at least 30 points in 5 straight games.
In December-on Christmas Day no less-the Heat will meet their rivals once again on the road, and they'll do their best to make it a W. They meet again on January 23, 2014, this time at American Airlines Arena, so get your tickets for that thrilling ride.
